Members

The CKAN Association has “members”. Membership is a way for individuals, companies and organisations to support the CKAN Project and be recognised for doing so. By becoming a member you are helping to ensure the long-term sustainability of CKAN.

Members are expected to contribute resources – either through contributing money or providing in-kind resources such as staff time. Members receive recognition for their contribution through display on the website, participation in events etc. There are several tiers of membership (see below).

Open Knowledge is a worldwide non-profit organisation that created CKAN in 2007. Its technical team remains one of the most important contributors responsible for maintaining and continuously improving this open source project.

Open Knowledge’s CKAN team helped the UK government to build and maintain data.gov.uk and was directly responsible for the relaunch of the US central government’s open data portal data.gov.

Open Knowledge provides implementation, custom development, technical support and hosted CKAN services.

  • $25k a year or more (1+ FTE in-kind)

  • $10k a year or more (0.5+ FTE in-kind)

  • $2k a year or more (no in-kind option)

Individual

  • Open to individuals (not organizations)
  • Has no strict contribution requirements but we expect members to be actively involved in CKAN and its community
