What CKAN Made Possible: A Sixteen-Year Open Data Story
From NYCBigApps to federal metadata standards — a co-founder's story of why CKAN's real value was never the portal
đź’ˇ TL;DR: On March 19, we're hosting a special CKAN Extensions Demo Day, giving developers the stage to showcase their extensions, demo their features, and connect with users and contributors.
The strength of CKAN comes from its community of users, developers, and advocates. All across the community developers take advantage of CKAN extensibility to create plugins that extend its functionality, automate tasks, or allow integration with other tools. We want these extensions to be known and used!
That’s why on March 19, we’re shaking up our CKAN Monthly Live format to bring you a special CKAN Extensions Demo Day.
In a lightning talk format, presenters will be able to showcase their extensions and demo them to present a quick overview of their features.
Why participate?
Have an extension to share? It doesn’t matter if it’s a tiny feature, as long as it is useful to the wider community we want to hear about it. Submit your extension using the form below, and we’ll be in touch.
