We're happy to welcome you to another CKAN Monthly Live this year! The CKAN ecosystem is distributed across hundreds of data portals, organisations, and practitioners around the world. This session introduces new tools designed to make it easier to navigate that ecosystem and make connections.
Presented by Joel Natividad, Co-Founder, datHere
A searchable directory of CKAN sites, extensions, and related tools. Joel will walk through what the Catalog contains and how to use it to find portals, extensions, and practitioners working on similar challenges and use cases.
Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX)
Presented by Nadine Levin, Product Owner, UN OCHA
HDX is the Ecosystem Catalog's current Site of the Month and one of the most significant CKAN deployments in the world. Nadine will share updates on what HDX has been building on top of CKAN's datastore, including recent work on programmatic API access to tabular humanitarian data.
Presented by Jamaica Jones, CKAN/POSE Community Manager, University of Pittsburgh
The CKAN space on the OKFN forum is being revived as a home for community discussion and knowledge exchange. Jamaica will present the forum and invite attendees to help shape what it becomes.
- How to discover CKAN sites, extensions, and tools through the Ecosystem Catalog
- How to use the Catalog to connect with others working on similar challenges, interests, and use cases
- What HDX has been building on top of CKAN's datastore β and what it means for humanitarian data access
- How the new CKAN discussion forum works and how to get involved from day one (and how it fits alongside Gitter and GitHub)
- How you can help shape the community spaces and activities that emerge from these tools
