This CKAN Monthly Live will highlight Ireland's Public Service Data Catalogue of the Office of Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) - a CKAN based data catalog that enables the publication, access and sharing of metadata information about Public Service Bodies dataset either in a full open fashion or in a PSB restricted fashion (to facilitate safe and controlled sharing across PSBs). A great illustration of CKAN as a Data Sharing tool!

Ireland's Public Service Data Strategy 2019-2023 sets out a detailed vision with a set of goals and actions to deliver a more joined-up whole-of-Government approach to how data is used and managed within the public service. It is linked to a strong Vision Statement “To establish a data ecosystem that will improve how we govern, manage and re-use data in a secure, efficient, and transparent way, for the benefit of citizens, businesses and policy makers”. Underpinning this vision statement is the creation of an Interoperability Platform that effectively enables Public Service Bodies (PSBs), in a secured controlled and flexible manner, to discover, share, link and re-use data for better decision-making, improved services and engagement across the stakeholder landscape.

Together with the dedicated OGCIO team, Derilinx designed, built, tested and rolled-out the Public Service Data Catalogue. This catalogue provides high level information on over 1,300 key datasets across almost 100 public service bodies (both the number of datasets and publishers are growing every month). It catalogues key data held by these public bodies, including citizens data, business data, and data critical to business decisions or service delivery.

💡 Join this webinar to:

  1. Learn about building the CKAN based Data Catalogue with security rules to allow not only access to datasets in a full open fashion but also in a restricted way to allow PSBs sharing data privately
  2. Understand Ireland’s wider Digital Transformation Strategy
  3. Understand next steps linked to Ireland Data Sharing Programme
