Join us for an enlightening session at our upcoming CKAN Monthly Live community meetup where the POSE project team will share their insights and plans for Phase II of the Pathways to Enable Open Source Ecosystems (POSE) project. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the advancements in the CKAN ecosystem, driven by the substantial support of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).
Understanding POSE
The Pathways to Enable Open Source Ecosystems (POSE) program by NSF is dedicated to supporting impactful open-source technologies. Last year, a team from the University of Pittsburgh and datHere successfully completed Phase I, which focused on planning improvements for CKAN by conducting ecosystem interviews, analyzing CKAN instances, and hosting community workshops. With new funding secured for Phase II, the team is now poised to implement the strategies developed during the first phase, aiming to significantly enhance the CKAN ecosystem. This funding represents a significant milestone in the project's progression, made possible by the dedicated efforts of Bob Gradeck, Joel Natividad, and the entire POSE team.
Key Objectives for Phase II
- Creation of clearly-defined onboarding pathways and outreach to new contributors;
- Developing new structures for community participation;
- Expanding adoption of the software and supporting continued use of CKAN;
- Enhancing business and fundraising strategies, and
- Sparking regular discussions about ecosystem health through performance measures.
